God promises to give us a whole heart. He is the one who does
the healing. “I will give them a heart to know that I am the LORD, and
they shall be my people and I will be their God, for they shall return
to me with their whole heart.” Jeremiah 24:7
Beula’s teaching on February 20th will be an
interactive workshop giving our Lord Jesus Christ an opportunity to
bring healing to the hearts of the participants.
John 4:21, 24 Jesus responded, “Believe me, dear woman, the time has
come when you will worship the Father neither on a mountain nor in
Jerusalem, but in your heart. ...From now on, worshiping the Father will
not be a matter of the right place but with a right heart. For God is a
Spirit, and he longs to have sincere worshipers who adore him in the
realm of the Spirit and in truth.” Passion Translation
Many of us have been locked out of our places of worship during Covid-19
lockdowns and have been challenged to worship in the depths of our
hearts. We have been conditioned through habit to worship in our
churches. During lockdown we have been challenged to worship in spirit
and truth. Because Jesus, our Immanuel is always with us, we can worship
everywhere.
There will be brief teaching and then a practice exercise. We will enter
His gates with thanksgiving, an appreciation exercise. Then we will ask
Father to bring to our mind a moment when He gave us a joyful
experience. This builds our joy capacity and strengthens us.
- James 4:8 Move your heart closer and closer to God, and he will come
even closer to you.
- But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. 1Pe 3:15
This is known as an
Immanuel
Encounter developed by Christian psychiatrist Dr. Karl Lehman.
Having experienced our divine encounter, we will learn about parts of
the heart that may need to be brought into closer relationship with
Jesus.
Most of us have experienced an inner dialogue wavering
between two opinions. Our left brain, the logical part, wants to reason
things out because it believes it has all the facts. Our right brain,
the emotional part, holds the emotion of an experience. We may have
gathered all the facts about learning to ride a bicycle in our right
brain, but only truly know how to ride a bicycle when we have learned
through experience the joy of being able to balance the bicycle without
training wheels. The emotion or joy of the experience is not held in the
logical part of our heart, but in the emotional part. Both parts are
needed for the full experience.
Most people connect with God through their right brain or function part.
About 20% of people connect with God through their emotions. Observe the
worshippers around you in a church service. Are they going through the
motions of worship or are they engaged in worship with their emotions as
well? Are their hearts fully engaged with their God? Jesus desires to
uncover the depths of our hearts and bring every part He created into
wholeness and engaged in relationship with Him.
What bliss you experience when your heart is pure! For then your eyes
will open to see more and more of God. (Matt 5:8) PT
Jesus came to heal the broken-hearted. We live in a fallen world and
many parts of our hearts may have been hurt through our life experience.
In Is 61:1 physical healing is not mentioned, but healing the
broken-hearted and setting the captives free is. Jesus does heal bodies
but He emphasizes healing of broken hearts. Our hearts are His treasure
and He desires that we come to Him for total heart healing for our own
sake and for intimacy in our relationship with Him.
I challenge you to pray with David:
- Ps 26:2 "Test me, O LORD, and try me, examine my heart and my mind."
- Psalm 139:23-24 "God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart.
Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden
within me. Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares. See
if there is any path of pain I’m walking on, and lead me back to your
glorious everlasting ways—the path that brings me back to you." (The
Passion Translation)
