 The Rev. Dr. Jan Bigland-Pritchard

Rev. Dr. Jan Bigland-Pritchard is Incumbent of St. Stephen's Anglican  Church in the diocese of Saskatoon.  She grew up in Canada but spent most of her adult life in the UK.  She holds an M.Div. from the College of Emmanuel & St. Chad in Saskatoon, and a PhD in Theology from Durham University in England, where she studied under the distinguished Anglican scholar-bishop the Rt. Rev. Professor Stephen Sykes.

She worked as research officer for the Bishop of Stepney, taught at Wilson Carlile (Church Army) College in Sheffield, and at Wesley College Bristol, before returning to Canada in 2005.  She then served simultaneously as Director of the Prairie Centre for Ecumenism and priest of  a 3-point rural parish before moving to St. Stephen's in 2011.

Jan's research and teaching led her into work on new religious movements, the New Age movement and the occult.  This sharpened her awareness of the similarities and important differences between authentic Christian practices of healing and their cultic, New Age and occultic counterparts.
